Frequently Asked Questions

Organic Gardening

Why do organic ingredients matter?

"Let your harvest show why organic matters". In our experience, growing organic gives you a superior product that outperforms compared to conventional in not only taste, but smell, size, and flavor. We focus on quality and the organic standard states that no synthetic chemicals or toxic pesticides will be used on your plants.

Delivery of products

Can you deliver your products?

Yes! We are able to deliver product loose in bulk up to 30 yards at a time with our dumping trailer or we can deliver soil contained in two yard super sacks up to 20 yards at a time with our flatbed trailer. We can also put our soil into your growing containers, stack and wrap them on a pallet, and deliver them to your location ready to go for your grow!

Different types of soil and growing media

Which growing media should I use?

Firstly, it depends on what you are looking for and what plants you are wanting to grow. We have specific soil blends for specific plants. For example, our Indoor CannaBlend is formulated for growers that are producing cannabis in an indoor setting with a nutrient/inoculate pack for heavy feeding fast growing plants. Or, our Outdoor CannaBlend works extremely well with growers wanting to water every couple days and producing plants outdoors through the year. We offer free consulting services to help you determine your exact growing needs.

How often to water plants and soil moisture holding capacity.

How often and how much do I need to water?

The answer depends upon your growing style, and what type of soil you are growing in; Some medias have more moisture holding capacity. For example, a soil with a high organic matter, compost base has more moisture holding capacity than a soil blend with a higher level of coco or perlite. Therefore, let your plants and moisture meter help fine tune your watering schedule. Our Indoor Blends typically water every 1-2 days and our Outdoor Blends water every 2-3 days.

You can order soil in bulk up to 24 yards or you can order super sacks and deliver on a flatbed.

Am I able to order soil in bulk?

Yes! We are able to deliver up to 30 yards of soil at a time with our dumping trailer. Or we are able to deliver 10 of our 2 yard super sacks (20 yards total) with a flat bed trailer to your location. You will need equipment to offload the supersacks from our trailer.

We can blend your soil recipe too

Will you blend my own recipe?

Yes! We blend our customer's own recipes often and we sign non-disclosure agreements to respect your knowledge and expertise.

Roots Organics dry and liquid nutrients

Can I order just amendments or nutrients?

Yes! We have Roots Organics nutrient lines in both liquid and dry form, potting soil, and other soil amendments. We also stock Mammoth Microbes, and many other brands for both nutrients and pest control. We also have garden equipment and accessories. Check out our shop page for more!

We can revitalize your older soils.

Can you revitalize my soil?

Absolutely! When you bring your "old" soil back in to us, we will run it back through our machines and add in anything you need!

Roots Organics Master Pack

Should I use liquid or dry nutrients?

You should use liquid or dry nutrients in correlation with the type of growing media you're using. If you are growing in our living soil than we suggest using the dry nutrients to please your plants. If you are growing hydroponically or in a very porous soil then we suggest to use the fast acting liquid nutrients.

How much does your soil weigh?

Depending on the blend and the moisture content we would say one yard will typically weigh between 700-1,000 pounds. Our super sacks hold 2 yards and will weigh between 1,400-2,000 pounds.
